During the school year, particularly in the fall, high schools host college fairs for students and their parents. The schools invite representatives from colleges and universities to come to their high school and speak to the students about admissions requirements and curricula of their particular institution.

ARK members can assist the Office of Admissions by telephoning students.

Writing letters to prospective students is another way of helping recruit students to UNO. When students receive personalized letters from you offering to answer any questions that they might have or to give them your impressions of UNO, the special attention they are receiving is sure to make them give UNO extra consideration in their college search.

Recruitment receptions, which are usually held in the spring, are very effective ways of converting an admitted student to an enrolled student. These receptions are small gatherings of admitted seniors (and some juniors) that are generally held in ARK members’ homes or offices.

Alumni volunteers establish a liaison role with up to three high schools in their area to act as a "recruiter" for all prospective and admitted students. Click here for the Adopt-A-School listing.
