- To assist with the recruitment of academically-qualified students to the university from within their specific region.
- To assist in converting larger numbers of prospective students to applicants and ultimately to enrolled students
- To increase personal contact with prospective students via letters and/or phone contacts
- To represent UNO at high school visits, college fairs, etc., throughout the year
- To promote UNO to students, counselors, teachers and administrators through receptions and/or other promotional programs
- Volunteers are asked to submit a completed evaluation within ten (10) days of each event attended or hosted
- Volunteer effectiveness in a given region is evaluated by the number of prospect cards and inquiry cards received from activities in the Fall and Spring
The UNO ARK program spans across the entire United States, encompassing members from New York to Houston to Los Angeles. In areas where there is a local chapter of the UNO Alumni Association, ARK activities are coordinated through the recruitment coordinator. In areas where alumni chapters do not yet exist, members can function independently by coordinating efforts through the Office of Admissions. The following items are the responsibilities of all ARK members:
- Attend local training workshops
- Follow through on commitments to ARK activities
- Assist Admissions representatives with recruitment activities in the area
The following items are the responsibilities of ARK Recruitment Coordinators for Alumni Chapters:
- Serve as liaison to ARK Members in their area and to the Office of Admissions
- Provide feedback of local ARK activities to the Office of Admissions
- Recruit new ARK members in the area
- Assist with training of ARK Members
- Assign ARK members to represent the university at college fair programs
- Provide the Office of Admissions with a current list of ARK members in the area
- Attend annual (or bi-annual) training programs.
