Key Goals/Initiatives
2009-2010

The Association can achieve many of its objectives, including increased alumni involvement, fellowship, loyalty and growth, by galvanizing alumni around a common cause. Severe cuts to Higher Education impacting UNO are such a cause and can be a rallying point. The 2009-2010 key goals and initiatives are designed to appeal to diverse alumni consistencies with varied interests and are aligned with key University needs.

Membership

  • Grow Alumni membership and engagement
  • Evaluate member benefits to increase member satisfaction
  • Develop strategy for social media usage

Student recruitment and retention

  • On-Campus improvements: Trees and Fountains Campaign
  • Alumni-hosted “Dine-Around” program to recruit and retain students
  • Promote “send-off” events for new and returning UNO students
  • Reinvigorate Alumni Recruitment Krewe activities

Government Relations/Advocacy

  • Support UNO Advocacy needs as requested
  • Assist with relationship building with officials, legislators, or others as appropriate

Pride and Engagement

  • Develop and provide regular communications to inform alumni population
  • Increase alumni attendance at UNO events – athletic, fine arts, lectures, etc.
  • Promote University and Association and build-reputation in community
  • Golf classic

Donor Cultivation

  • Assist University and Foundation with identification and relationship
    building with potential donors, sponsors
  • Build membership to create donor pool for development
  • Engage chapters to develop fundraising proposals
  • Engage future alumni and young alumni
